3Z RF Vision Antenna Aligner Care & Inspection

Over the past few months, we have talked a lot about the 3Z RF Vision Antenna Aligner. We outlined what the aligner is and how it works here and a broke down each accessory and how it works here. This week, our Gear Experts® are going to break down how to care for the antenna aligner and what steps you need to take to make sure that your aligner stays accurate.

Tough as Nails

As we mentioned in our 3Z RF Vision Antenna Alignment Tool Buying Guide this tool is built to last. It features an all-weather enclosure designed to withstand everything mother nature has to throw at it. The strengthened polycarbonate hard plastic and protective bumper make it pretty much impact resistant. Not to mention the body is heat resistant too. As a tower climber, you know that weather can be unforgiving – this rugged tool can handle it.

Impact Resistant Display

When you see touch screens, the first thing you think of is probably how easy it will break. 3Z knew that to ensure this tool could stand up to the tough job, the touch screen had to be tough. The display features chemically strengthened glass intended for rugged use. The chemical treatment makes the screen resistant to scratching, cracking, and breaking.

Calibration

While this device has a rugged design and is built to handle the toughest of situations, it is always a good idea to make sure that it is performing up to standards. Over the course of using the tool, the sensitivity can be affected which means that reading can slowly become less accurate. Every two years the RF Vision should be sent in for calibration. There are two different calibration options available: Standard and Premium.

Standard Calibration

Standard calibration includes a full internal calibration, firmware/software updates, tune-ups, cleaning, and a systems test.

Premium Calibration

The premium calibration includes everything listed in the standard calibration plus a full body replacement with sealants.
