Eddy current braking: Non-contacting magnetic technology provides self-regulating braking without sacrificial wear parts or one-way clutch bearings.
Consistent descent speed: Accommodates user weights from 22 to 330 lbs (10 to 150 kg) with a maximum descent velocity of 6 ft/s (1.8 m/s).
Field-replaceable webbing: Includes 41 ft (12.5 m) Nylon/Spectra webbing line with a TruLock aluminum triple-action carabiner and swivel.
The Head Rush Technologies TRUBLUE auto belay is an automatic belay device designed to eliminate the need for a human belayer in climbing applications. Engineered to meet international safety standards for fall arrest devices, the TRUBLUE auto belay hangs from a top anchor to provide consistent lowering.
The device utilizes patented eddy current magnetic braking technology for a self-regulating braking system without sacrificial wear parts. This system maintains a smooth descent velocity up to 6 ft/s (1.8 m/s) with minimal variation across a rated working capacity of 22 to 330 lbs (10 to 150 kg). The internal mechanism eliminates one-way clutch bearings and emits a gentle whirring noise during descent.
This model features a 41 ft (12.5 m) maximum descent height with a 0.9 in (20.32 mm) wide, 0.1 in (2.5 mm) thick Nylon/Spectra webbing line rated for a minimum average breaking strength of 3,507 lbs (15.6 kN). Line termination is fitted with an aluminum triple-action TruLock carabiner featuring an integrated swivel. Device outer dimensions measure 15 in x 12.6 in x 8.5 in (380 mm x 320 mm x 140 mm) with a total weight of 42.5 lbs (19.3 kg). The housing is constructed from cast aluminum with a modified Acetal webbing feed-in nozzle.
The product includes the modular auto belay unit, integrated 41 ft (12.5 m) Nylon/Spectra webbing, and an attached TruLock aluminum carabiner connector. The manufacturer notes that maximum mounting height is 41 ft (12.5 m) with no minimum mounting height requirements.
