The GelTech FireIce Shield CTP 5-LB Bucket becomes an eco-friendly and non-corrosive fire prevention gel when mixed with water. FireIce Communication Tower Protection (CTP) gel is formulated with a white pigmentation for maximum visibility when you apply the gel to communication tower structures and cables. The gel cools protected surfaces and limits thermal transfer to reduce the direct costs of damage caused by welding sparks, fires, and slag. Apply FireIce prior to maintenance to save yourself from short and long-term indirect costs resulting from service outages and structural failures.

FireIce is effective up to 5,000° F and adheres to virtually any surface. FireIce has been extensively tested and shown to be effective on metal fires (magnesium, titanium, calcium, potassium, and lithium), battery fires, tire fires, wildland fires, some accelerant fires, and voltages up to 50kV/40ka.

FireIce Gel is designed to stay in suspension so it will not separate or dry out if stored in a sealed vessel and not exposed to UV light. FireIce gel that has frozen and thawed multiple times remains fully effective. FireIce gel has a freezing point of 27° F and testing has shown the gel to be capable of withstanding temperatures of over 10,000° F. FireIce gel will stay hydrated and remain effective for up to 48 hours after application with some variation due to weather conditions.
