Due to all of the fuss over the perfectly working old style cable grab and it's mandatory recall followed up by the issues I have discussed, witnessed and heard about with the X2 and X3 I decided to give Miller a shot.Quality is excellent. Spend the extra and get the swivel carabiner. I have personally used this on three monopoles and climbing down was a breeze. The Miller slides down smoothly and have had no issues with it hanging up so far.I witnessed a climber struggle with the other brand for 10 minutes on top of the tower and then struggle again at around 30 feet. The same areas I climbed right thru without issues. I have the new X3 and will try this on the next job but will have the Miller hanging off my belt just in case.I had to buy this myself but since it is the same cost as the brand X; it was just a simple choice. I wanted to write a review for others who may be sick of brand X and looking for something different.
I have not personally used these, but my guys in the field love them compared to the new DBI X2 and X3. We are currently working on changing out all of the safety climbs in the entire company to these. Will be purchasing more of these in the future.
Don't climb without these. Once they are attached to your harness, you don't even know they are there, but if you were hanging in your harness, you will be glad they are. Suspension Trauma can happen almost immediately to some. Don't take the chance.
