One of the better pelican-type positioning devices I have used in recent years. It was much bulkier than I expected it to be with a robust spreader bar and pelican hook, but well made overall. The pelican itself has an ergonomic grip that allows the user to work the action naturally. The rigid and inflexible webbing takes some getting use to but overall a great piece of equipment.
Great lanyard that’s made to last. The snap hooks are excellent quality components and the 1” webbing is rugged. A great feature included into this lanyard is the shielded inspection tag protected by a flexible fabric and velcro wrapping. It does a great job of preserving the ink on the tag and keeping it legible.
This is a nice universal pouch with a drawstring enclosure to keep you contents where they belong. Can securely hold nuts and bolts or bottles of water. Easy to open up and with its wide mouth design you can easily see inside to find what you are looking for.
I have tried a few harness from elk river. The Peregrine is the best (lighter weight). This harness does have an extra shock absorber in the back which causes it to be heavier and hotter. The seat is not fully adjustable as I have seen with other harnesses. So I would say it is a good comfortable harness.
Elk river has finally designed a harness that I don't mind working in!THE PROS: The Platinum Ras is very lightweight, streamline, and comfortable. The seat is well fitted and easily adjustable. Legstraps being the buckle style, don't loosen up and require readjustment. The same goes for the chest D-ring and shoulder straps which are simple to loosen and tighten;simple pull down tightens and lightly lifting up the tab allows the strap to loosen easily to the desired fitting. While some harnesses seem to reduce your flexibility, the Peregrine Ras offers Full flexibility and a snug fit for all. I have a rather short torso so most medium belts don't fit correctly, and the next size down I is always to small. With the broad setup for adjustment I can wear a medium harness that actually fits correctly in every aspect.CONS: I have only one bad thing to say about the peregrine ras. The hip belt isnt designed to run inside the connector piece for the d-rings. Instead, it is required to be ran through the d-rings themselves. This issue it is causing myself is that the waist and hip padding will ride up while working and become uncomfortable.Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I hope it helps you decide whether this will be a good harness for you or not. Stay 100% brothers. WHOOP!
