Council Tool's 5 lb Splitting Wedge is designed to split logs, firewood, staves and other wood products. Sharpened and ready to use, the Council wedge is tapered for efficient splitting.

Drop Forged from American high carbon steel, the Council wedge is properly beveled around the “struck” face to deter chipping and cracking. When using wedges, always use a woodchopper’s maul or an axe to make a starting notch. Wedges should be struck by a sledge hammer or woodchopper’s maul with a larger striking face than the struck face of the wedge.

Anyone using, or in the vicinity of, a striking or struck tool should wear eye protection.
